Taiwan-based TTC (Telecom Technology Center) and CCS (Compliance Certification Services) jointly announced on February 4 that their co-sponsored TTC-CCS lab has been selected by WiMAX Forum as the second designated WiMAX certification lab in Taiwan. The TTC-CCS lab plans to provide both fixed and mobile WiMAX certification services to Asian companies.

According to the press release by the lab, the TTC-CCS lab is the first facility able to accredit fixed WiMAX products in Taiwan. AT4 Wireless of Spain, the first such lab accredited by WiMAX Forum, is expected to assist TTC-CCS in perfecting all verification and licensing services, which are scheduled to start in the second half of this year. WiMAX Forum currently has six certification labs worldwide, four of which are located in the United States, Europe, China, Korea, respectively, and two in Taiwan. WiMAX Forum also plans to open an additional lab in India by the end of 2008.
